MONTHLY UPDATE - October 2016
Posted on October 5th, 2016
September was an exciting month with children renewing and making new friendships and settling into their learning programs. We so enjoyed connecting with each of you at Meet the Staff night and appreciate your interest and support in our wonderful parent volunteer organizations. The Bison Family Games Night was an amazing success with so many students, parents and staff (over 150 people!) had an opportunity to play mathematical literacy games that engage students and parents in learning. The energy and enthusiasm of students and parents was simply awe inspiring! Thank you to the Ardrossan Junior-Senior High School Leadership students for popping the popcorn for our students to enjoy and the Ardrossan Elementary Parent Support Association for donating prizes. Plans are already underway next year for the Second Annual Math Games night! The weather cooperated so the Terry Fox Run was a success again for students, staff and parents to walk in support of this cause that is close to the hearts of everyone. September 30th was also an opportunity for students and staff to wear orange in recognition of Every Child Matters.
October brings the changing colours of the leaves on the trees as we all prepare for the onset of cooler weather. This month also promises to be filled with student and staff learning, parent volunteerism, student progress interviews and Halloween. As well, the grounds for the replacement school are being readied for construction to commence. The official Groundbreaking Event happens on October 13 at 11:00 a.m. Thanks to everyone for continuing to be safety cautious and traffic savvy as construction takes place.
Lastly, on behalf of our staff, we wish you and your family a relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving.
